What should you put in your small business Christmas card this year? If you’re sick of seeing the same types of holiday and Christmas cards from companies year after year, you’re likely looking for some creative card options. After all, why waste time and money putting together a small business Christmas card that doesn’t really wow or delight your customers?
The holiday season is special and your Christmas or holiday greeting card should exemplify that. Here are a few creative small business Christmas card ideas to get you started!
5 Creative Small Business Christmas Card Ideas
1. Show customers it’s all in the family
Small business used to be synonymous with a “Mom and Pop” style business, started and run by a close-knit family. You can channel that familial vibe by posing for a holiday-themed photo with your family for your Christmas card this year. It’s a great way to include your customers in your family’s holiday season and send greetings “From our family to yours.”
2. Take a group company photo
Your customers look to you and your employees for great service and reliable products, so why not include a group company photo in this year’s Christmas card? From personal experience, I can tell you that the act of taking a group company photo is an event in itself – especially if you take a few blooper shots. You and your team will have a wonderful memory to look back on and your customers will enjoy seeing the team together in a photo.
3. A professional photo of your building
You pay a lot of money to lease, rent, or own your building, so it’s only right that you include a nice photo of it in your Christmas card this year! If you’re proud of the space you’re in or have recently moved to a new location, this is a great way to show it off to customers and let them know about the new location. Have the photo professionally taken or take it a step further and go for aerial drone photography – a whole new angle of your building that customers will love to see!
4. Add some mistletoe to your logo
Your logo is great, but unless your company is called Christmas Town or House of Holidays, it probably doesn’t have anything to do with the holiday season. You can temporarily add a holiday icon or themed colors to your logo for the Christmas season to make your small business Christmas card stand out.
On the right, you can see our company logo with two speech bubbles and virtual receptionist in the center. Below that, you can see a holiday re-imagining of the logo, with ornaments in company colors replacing the speech bubbles.
Ideas to add to your logo for the holidays:
- A sprig of mistletoe or holly
- Christmas tree or wreath
- Ornaments, stars
- Wrapped present or ribbon around your logo
- Change text to green and red, gold and red, etc.
- Overlay “snowflakes” or white sparkle
- Santa, reindeer, sleigh, elves, etc.
5. Include company updates or insights
Finally, a fun creative twist on the typical small business Christmas card is to include some company news, updates, or insights from the year. If you recently did a survey, include some of the insights you found. Talk about company updates, new employees, location changes, plans for the upcoming year, etc. Customers’ interest will be piqued and you’ll be responsible for one of the most informative, useful Christmas cards they receive this year!
