Men and women across the globe wake up each day with an inherent desire to build products and services that will make others’ lives easier, better, or more productive. We call these people entrepreneurs, and November is all about celebrating their efforts.
If you’re an entrepreneur or are close to one, make note: November is National Entrepreneurship Month. While entrepreneurship is only part of daily life for some, the spirit of entrepreneurship touches the lives of everyone on the planet.
Wondering how you’ll celebrate National Entrepreneurship Month in November? We’ve got some ideas for you!
Celebrating National Entrepreneurship Month in November
During the month of November, there are several holidays scheduled that honor entrepreneurs and help encourage upcoming generations to build an interest in entrepreneurship and small business. Small business is an integral part of the American economy and these special holidays serve to support the spirit of entrepreneurship and encourage others to take notice of the efforts of entrepreneurs not just in America, but across the globe.
Some of the holidays during National Entrepreneurship Month include Global Entrepreneurship Week, National Entrepreneurs’ Day, Global Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, and Small Business Saturday.
National Entrepreneurs’ Day
David Hauser, Siamak Taghaddos, and Amir Tehrani are the force behind National Entrepreneurs’ Day, or NED. They wanted to start a holiday to promote and honor entrepreneurship in the United States. The three also wanted to ensure that would-be young entrepreneurs had a chance to hear about entrepreneurship so they could consider it as they move forward and begin choosing careers. A nationally recognized holiday was the way to do it, so they went about getting NED presidentially proclaimed.
It worked, and NED has been presidentially proclaimed every year since 2010. It’s not an official United States holiday yet – if you’re interested in helping make NED an official holiday, visit EntrepreneursDay.org.

How to celebrate National Entrepreneurship Month
Our marketing director wrote a Huffington Post article about celebrating National Entrepreneurship Month a few years ago and it’s one of the top resources on the topic. We took some of the points from the article to share with you below. To read the full article, click here.
Be thankful. If you have an entrepreneur mentor, call and thank them for their guidance and support. It doesn’t have to be sappy, just sincere.
Be a mentor. If you are an entrepreneur, find an entrepreneur to mentor and offer to share what you’ve learned along your journey.
Be a supporter. Make an effort to support other entrepreneurs by using their services and recommending those you enjoy.
Be humble. Be thankful for the lessons you’ve learned, the success you’ve tasted, and the challenges you’ve faced. Appreciate the effects each of these things have had on you as a person and as an entrepreneur. Find peace with that.
Be good to yourself. Last but not least, be sure to set aside ample time this month for rest and relaxation or a favorite hobby. Rest is critical to your well-being and the long-term success of your efforts, so don’t skimp on it as your goals become tangible!
